Thompson Board of Education (BOE) attorney, Brad Miller, decided he needs assistance to
continue providing the politically divided Thompson BOE professional services.  His decision,
according to sources inside the District, is largely driven by an increasing commitment to the
JeffcoBoard of Education where he was engaged prior to being hired at the Thompson School
District.  To compliment his team, he is hiring Denver attorney Jo Deziel Timmins.

The Denver Post
reported last February when newly elected members of the BOE hired Miller; a
meeting interrupted by previous board members and some teachers.  Following the BOE election
one year ago, four members of the Thompson BOE have been subjected to regular meeting
interruptions by colleagues and the audience, being followed and photographed in public by
agitators and a Facebook page dedicated to propagating conspiracy theories about their real
motives and intentions.  Nearly every action or event for the past year has been fodder for the
small but dedicated group of hecklers questioning not only the newly elected official's actions but
real motives as well.

Miller was photographed this week meeting two members of the Thompson Board of Education
(BOE) to introduce his colleague who he recommends will assist him which was published on
Facebook by the anonymous Facebook page "Reform Watch" with the following explanation,

"They (and we) are wondering why is Brad Miller meeting with Reform BOE Members, Bryce
Carlson and Donna Rice, and an unnamed lady. (Yes we think the lady in the photo resembles
someone from Berthoud.)....We also recognize the location as the Café Athens out at Centerra. It
is a nice, quiet and fairly secluded location for a meeting that you might not want others to see
you holding.  Does Miller also meet with Bob Kerrigan and Carl Langner? If so, do others join
them for their meetings?  Are board members allowed to meet with their attorney without
approval by the full board? Who gave the approval for the meeting? Is Miller charging TSD for
his time?

The posting is followed by a litany of angry comments denouncing the "Reform" board members
(even those not in the photo) and calling for their resignations.   One BOE agitator who has
regularly protested or interrupted BOE meetings,  posted,

This is the best post of the year....SPEAKS VOLUMES AS TO WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON. THEY
SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE BOARD FOR THIS.

Maia Gordon Mattise-Lorenzen, another regular BOE agitator and conspiracy theorist who
regularly posts on that web page commented,

"I think everyone should share this post on their page. Get the word out to your neighbors.
Something stinks in the TSD and it's the BOE attorney and the reform members who hired him."

Conspiracy Theorists Debunked

Contrary to what the conspiracy Facebook page reported, Miller did not meet with only the
"Reform" board members but invited all board members to various introductory meetings with
Denver attorney Jo Deziel Timmins .

Earlier the same day, BOE members Lori Hvizda Ward and Pam Howard (both vocal opponents of
their 'Reform' colleagues) sat down at the Coffee Tree in Loveland to meet with Timmins and
Miller for more than an hour.

LovelandPolitics has learned that because the meetings were simply an introduction, the District
is not being charged for either attorney's time despite what is being reported on the Facebook
Conspiracy Theorist page 'Reform Watch.'

BOE members Lori Hvizda Ward and Pam Howard, political fellow travellers with the agitators
and their conspiracy Facebook page,  failed to inform their own supporters that they also met with
the two attorneys the same day earlier this week.  Despite participating in the same private
meeting at a coffee shop with the BOE attorneys, both failed to inform their supporters on their
own Facebook pages or publish any disclaimer on "Reform Watch" that the conspiracy theory may
be a little far-fetched.

The fact the hecklers will likely not call for the resignations of Ward or Howard for engaging in the
identical activities they believe merit a public flogging of the 'Reform' board members perhaps
best shows the ongoing protests at board meetings have little to do with the conduct of the
'Reform' board members.

As angry as this makes me, once again, I am
not surprised. We know the reform members
lack transparency,
lack integrity, lack the
ability to play well with others
, so again,
not surprised, but still mightily angry that they
get away with this stuff. I bet anything that this
meeting will be billed somehow to the school
district. Brad Miller is not going to come all
this way without getting extra money in his
pocket.
