Kathay Rennels announced today she is resigning from the Larimer County Board of Commissioners on Dec 31. She has accepted a full-time position to become the Director of Economic Development at CSU. The Larimer County Republican Party Central Committee will have 10 days to name her replacement.
Names rumored as possible replacements include Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden, Eric Kronwall, and John Clarke.
Larimer County Commissioners represent specific areas of the county where they must also live. Therefore any candidate for the appointment will need to be a resident of the northern part of Larimer County.
Any comments or suggestions of potential candidates?
Eric Kronwall is their best bet for someone who can run and win in a year. The Sheriff has baggage and will need to fight an uphill battle.
I don’t know who he is but Alderden has been a leader in the county for a very longtime. We need someone less moderate on the board to shake it up a bit.
Baggage? Specifics, please.
The only baggage the Larimer County Sheriff has are the whiny liberal cowards at The Coloradoan and The Reporter-Herald who hate the United States of America, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, and the United States Constitution. But the Sheriff is a good and decent man who does what he should do – laugh at them, the pathetic, useless, worthless bunch of them.
Reliable sources say Andrew Boucher is in the running.
What are you – the Reporter-Herald? Name your reliable sources, if you have them.
So it is official: Andrew Boucher is being considered for the position of Larimer County Commissioner. And, as expected, The Reporter-Herald ignores relevant and important facts:
Boucher works for the McWhinneys – so doesn’t that pose a conflict of interest with his current position on the Larimer County Planning Commission?
He has a criminal record, and is currently on probation.
The Larimer County Republican Chair is on record as saying he knows of no wrong-doing by Mr. Boucher despite his conviction; which should suggest the LCRP needs a new chair – a honest one, at that.
Boucher left New Hampshire under a cloud of suspicion when his comrades in the New Hamsphire Republican Party were charged, convicted, and sentenced for breaking the law.
Oh, yes: The mailing address for the Diggs Brown campaign, which Boucher is running, is Boucher’s address in Fort Collins – S. Howes Street.
Perhaps LP.com should investigate and report on this matter since the professional news media cannot be bothered to do so.
Can you please elaborate on the accusation he has a criminal record? I will need to remove the comment if you can’t substantiate the accusation in the next few hours.
Thanks
It is a matter of public record that Andrew Boucher was told that he has to stay out of legal trouble or charges will be filed against him regarding his activities in the most recent Fort Collins City Council election cycle. Does probation constitute a criminal record?
Well that certainly is not the same as being convicted of a crime and put on probation. Probation is a specific legal term that he is not under by what is being described.
In addition, by not mentioning what it is infers something more serious like a robbing a bank or stealing a car.
For the record, we have no evidence that he did commit a crime or was ever put on probation so the comment by Prince should be disregarded. If there is a public record “Joe” please provide us a link. Otherwise try and stick to the issues.
Thanks
Mr. Administrator he took money from McWhinney to try and manipulate politics in Ft. Collins. In my view that is worse than the crimes you mentioned.
He is out of clients and getting ready to return back to New Hampshire. Putting him on the county board will keep him here even longer. That is in nobody’s interest but his own. Andrew has never owned land in the county areas, stretched a fenced, been on a roundup or attended a rodeo.
Please let him go home and stir silly political trouble for profit in New England living at his parent’s home. We don’t need people who think they are clever playing dishonest games to goat folks into paying political consultants or life coaches or whatever he calls himself.
No way no how.
When asked some time ago for my opinion of Mr. Boucher I gave it. In response I was told the Republican Party no longer needs my support.
So be it. The Republicans have been losing elections right and left in Larimer County, and they will continue to lose elections so long as they prefer the likes of Mr. Boucher over decent, moral people.
